24houressay began in 2001 in not-so-sleepy Cornwall. The service was set up by James Lavoy and Martin Champion, two graduates who had worked for other academic writing sites but had come to dislike the ethos they found there. Put simply, James and Martin believed it should be possible to find a middle road between the two types of company that dominated the market:
- on the one hand, there were sites that offered decent work but charged sky-high prices.
- on the other hand, there were sites that downright lied about their credentials and delivered shockingly bad work.
James and Martin set up 24houressay as an antidote to the plethora of terrible sites. The plan was simple: to find a way of bringing writers and students together in a way that was beneficial, secure and reliable for everyone involved. At first, the service was operated on a word-of-mouth basis. Customers came to us via recommendations from other customers. For 8 years, 24houressay operated very successfully in this way, with minimal web presence. However, in 2009 we decided to start offering the service via a website, and 24houressay.co.uk was born.
24houressay is not some online company taking a 50% cut and passing your work on to a bunch of writers who'll write for peanuts. We're just a group of people who put you in touch with qualified academic writers who can give you the work you need. We're a middle-man and we help you get good writers, while also helping good writers get good customers. Whereas most other sites (all other sites, as far as we know) take your money and then keep at least 50% for themselves, with 24houressay you pay the writer directly and they just pay us an annual donation to help us keep the site running.
From Cornwall to London
Cornwall was the ideal location for 24houressay's early activities, but it became apparent that a move to London was vital if the site was to continue to grow. For one thing, the site's operators were starting to think about moving to a big city, and for another thing, the service was quickly outgrowing its roots. Momentum needed to be maintained.
In 2006, 24houressay moved from Cornwall to Wood Lane, London, and began a period of heavy consolidation, overhauling its internet operations and taking a step back to examine every aspect of the custom essay industry. The plan was simple: to take all the bad features of other essay writing sites, fix them and turn them into positives. We've just moved office again and are branching out into some interesting new areas of web-based services.
The Future
Today, we're continually expanding our custom academic writing portfolio, adding sites such as MA Dissertations UK and taking the first steps in a number of exciting new directions.
Many of our writers are extremely talented individuals with interests ranging from academic to popular publishing, and we're looking to take what we've learnt from the custom essay writing business and establish a new publishing company.
We're also continually working to improve the service here at 24houressay.co.uk, and among the development we have in the pipeline for the rest of 2009 are enhanced customer service and a revamped version of our anti-plagiarism system.
